A documented route for complaints, corrections and replies
PRESS01 reviews specific, evidence-based complaints concerning accuracy, attribution, privacy, fairness, copyright, image use or a material omission.
What to send
Please provide the article URL, the exact passage or image in question, a clear explanation of the issue, supporting documents or links, your full name and a reliable contact address.
Right of reply
A person or organisation materially criticised in a PRESS01 report may submit a concise, relevant and verifiable response. Publication, placement and editing remain editorial decisions, but the substance of a legitimate response will be considered fairly.
Corrections
Material factual errors should be corrected promptly. Significant corrections should identify what changed. Minor typographical or formatting repairs may be made without a separate notice when they do not alter meaning.
Review process
The newsroom may request identity verification, source documents or clarification. Abusive, repetitive, anonymous or unsupported demands do not require publication or removal.
